Hooking day

What another gorgeous day out there today. Today I went to my hooking group out in Gettysburg, Pa. I travel over the mountain to get there. I absolutely love this ride in the Fall. And this is why......
All the way there, I get to see the beauty of God's work. Just takes my breath away. Yes, I was driving while I was taking the picture, but you can see there isn't much traffic. I did slow down though and am surprised the pictures came out as good as they did.

I got to see some wonderful rugs today. There weren't as many of us this month as there have been in the past, but it's always enjoyable. My friend Joan finished her rug for her sisters wedding, which she will be going to next week. We will miss her this year at the Brandywine Hook-in on the 25th. What a lucky, lucky sister she has.. Nancy was busy whipping her rug which is just adorable. Again, we will also miss her this year at Brandywine. She will be attending the McGown convention in NY. It's the same weekend. Isn't this rug sweet? She got permission to make this into a rug from a painting. Here is just a couple shots of the group of women who came today.
There is always so much talking going on, and not a whole lot of hooking. But I did manage to get a little more done on my rug. I will have to put it aside again to get back to the commission piece. I'm fearing I won't have this finished by the end of the month, but that's ok. I'm enjoying it so much, that I don't want to rush it. Will be bringing this to the Brandywine Hook in to work on it there. Ok, here is one for the hooking books. We have ALL been here in one way or another. We go to one of these hook-ins and we forget something. Our scissors, our hook, our eyeglasses, even our wool at times. This time it was the frame. Louise left her frame at home lol. But.... she's one creative person. You gotta give her that! The foundation wasn't big enought to tuck under her, so Nancy lent her some T-pins and she pinned the piece to her pants. I got the giggles with this one and HAD to take a picture!! So there is today's tip for you. Forget your frame? Pin it to your lap!! Thanks for a great tip Louise!

And who's to say that my birthday week is over, hmmm??? I got a beautiful birthday gift from my friend Joan today. I just love the color of the wool. Will be put to good use. The pin is adorable. Thank you Joan!!
I will also be going out to dinner for my birthday on Thursday with what started to be 2 girls from my church, and now is up to 4! The more the merrier.....
Wishing everyone a creative day today.....

OMG I LOVE the rug Joan has hooked for her sister!!. Would you mind to ask her whose pattern it is? She and I like the same colors, this is just the way I would hook this piece.

Sheri, Joan's rug is called Stella Hay Rex by Lib Calloway. The size was 43"x73".. Hope this helps. It is beautiful, isn't it?

Tammy, thanks for the birthday wishes. Thanks to all who have wished me a wonderful week!!
