2 weeks worth of catch up!

I was very focused last week to get some things done, so the blog was put to the side. Just didn't feel like taking the time to update it.  I made it a plan to hook for a half hour, get up and do something in the house, then sit for another half hour and get up and do another thing. This went on for quite some time.   Last night I pulled the last loop on the antique rug that we are doing in our quarterly challenge of AAPG.  Why I chose to do it so big, I don't know... Still hitting myself on that one, but I'm really pleased with it and I can't wait to hang it on the wall in my bedroom.  Thank you Kelley for drawing this up for us!

Here is what has been going on for the last 2 weeks at the hook in at Grant Street Woolworks.
Some of the rugs finished...

Nancee

Nancee

Debbie

Amy

She even learned to whip it and finished it while she was there. She's all set on making a label for it too :).

Margo, she is going to make this bunny into a pillow.

Deb.. she used roving on the beard.

And here are some pieces in progress.

Genny

Marilyn

Diane

Look how much she has done..

Joan, doing something small for a swap I believe.

Kathy

Nancee

I'm thinking Linda will need to invest in more seating :).  The hook in is growing!!

So you can see that there really is a lot of hooking going on.  But then again, we always need to have fun too, right??

When Kathy walked in, I had to lead her over to the bolt of wool that Linda had.  I said I "know" that wool!  She got the biggest kick out of it lol.  She had bought it at a thrift store.

And then there were some who still wanted to have their picture taken with the Falconette Rifle. Linda had to put some "color" in the picture :).  And Rick decided to put a Pickelhaube helmet on her head lol.

Linda was yelling in the corner for me to look mean.  I was trying so hard to do that and not laugh. Didn't quite pull it off LOL.

Joan got a gift from her secret pal. What a cute apron. Born to hook, Forced to cook I think it said.

And my husband got the biggest kick out of the glasses that Nancee picked up for me, because I couldn't find them near me. Let me tell you, they are awesome. Those little lights on the side put off some good light!  A great pair of cheaters! Thanks Nancee for picking them up for me.  I will be using them later when I sit down to stitch a cross stitch piece.

This morning I dyed some wool yarn to use for the whipping on the antique rug. I was a little nervous at doing it, but I think it's going to be a good match! I used the same formula I used on the background. I just didn't know how much to use, so I did a little at a time. I wrote it down and how much I used in case I run short.  I still have more yarn that I can dye. Thank you again Sharon.. It's coming in Handy!! Sharon gifted it to me a long time ago.

Well off to gather up my floss to do some stitching. It's going to be nice not to have that heavy load on my legs :).  Have a great weekend everyone!

Thanks for sharing all the rugs - wow everyone has been so busy! And I know you don't believe in these things but wow that pic of Barb - there are "orbs" flying all over the place (cue spooky music). Anyway - loved the pic of you looking "mean!" Love your rug and your wool yarn!

LOL, so much interest in the glasses. Nancee got them at a Walmart and I have heard that CVS has them too. So have fun everyone!
And Lauren the rug is 44x24. I actually made it a little smaller than what I originally had it at lol.

Kathy,
Your rug is oh so wonderful! Love all the pics of the hook in too. Too funny about the bolt of wool matching Kathy's blazer. Your wool yarn looks like the perfect match for whipping your rug. Those glasses are neat! Hugs, Lori

Your antique rug finished up fabulous! And, you did a great job of dyeing yarn to match! Those lighted glasses look fun... i might get a pair for Bob for his radio repair adventures! The flying rabbit rug is so beautiful! A family heirloom in the making, for sure! Thanks for the idea of hooking, then get something done around the house tip! That way stuff gets done and fun time is found along with it (without wearing out my neck and hands)! :-)
