Merry Christmas to All ~~~~

Merry Christmas Everyone

What a hectic time it always becomes between Thanksgiving and Christmas. This year, I chose to make things more simpler for myself, but still........ things have a way of creeping up at the last minute.  As time goes by, life goes by even quicker!

Going to enjoy what is left of this year and reflect on all the memories that were made with family and friends.  I couldn't be more happier these days, more filled with love. My hope is to pass it along to everyone I come in contact with. A smile goes a long way, a hug, a kind word, a thank you, a Merry Christmas  or God Bless you.  I wish you could feel what I feel. And maybe some of you do. If you do, pass it along....  You will be Blessed for it :).

May your Christmas be as Special as each one of you are!

Kathy

It was Wonderful

What a Wonderful month of October to celebrate my Birthday. Sorry it's over, but God willing, there will be another one Next Year to Celebrate!  Thank you to all my friends and family for making it so memorable!

I had been busy working on this stitching piece, and finally finished it last week.  I will set it aside for the complete  finishing for another time. I have other items that need to be made for a show on the weekend of Thanksgiving. It's the Little Log House in East Berlin, that runs from Black Friday through Sunday. I want to get these items done, so I can start on some Christmas gifts. I'm not stressing though. If I don't have the time OR the energy, then that's ok.  They won't get done, and I can vow to start earlier next year??  Are you laughing at me yet? I know you are...  Don't we always say that?  LOL.  Hey, it is what it is!

Have a Blessed week everyone!

Just a little bit ~

I don't have a ton of Fall items to put out. So I gathered them more in one area where I can view them from the other rooms. The kitchen.  I thought as I got older, I'd spend less time in there, but geesh, we have to eat! So someone has to do the cooking :).

Here is just a quick shot I took a little while back, and yes the lap tops on the floor are now moved lol.

And here is a quick shot of the cross stitch piece I am working on. I am moving right along and plan on getting a lot more done today!  It's a Stacy Nash pattern called Sarah Cricks Works.  I plan on putting my name in her place.  I believe Sharon gave this to me a while back . :)  The dyed linen is from Lori Brechlin.

Have a Wonderful day dear friends~

This and that~~

Wow, Friday already?  This week has flown by.  Have really been enjoying my  Birthday month so far! :)  Spent the day of my Birthday going to lunch with Nancee and then hitting a couple antique shops. Came home with a few little treasures from one along with some Wonderful Birthday gifts from Nancee.  Had dinner (pizza) with hubby George, and he even ventured out to the store while I was gone and got some cupcakes for the evening dessert! :)

I recently Joined a Facebook group created by Lori Brechlin called The Out of Hand Rug Hookers Group .  It's growing quickly!  Lori was very generous and gave a free pattern for a challenge.  Santa Claws, a sweet little Christmas Cat.  I thought why not? Could make it any size, but I left mine small.  Completed size is 9 1/2" x 11".  Very quick to hook up!

Went to the Thursday hook in at Grant Street yesterday.  It was hopping with some new customers which is always nice to see.  Supporting your local shops is what keeps them in business!
Diana finished hooking her Rooster and was working on whipping it yesterday.

Deb finished hooking her Uncle Sam

Mindy is a new rug hooker to the group and is working on her background.

Teresa is "happily" working on her coiled snowmen.

I didn't get any more shots of the day. Linda had gotten a cake for the "recent" Birthday girls.  Barb, Joan and myself. Sorry Joan wasn't able to make it to the hook in. Thank you Linda, it was delicious!  Right after the cake, I had to leave to come home and make sure George was ok and make him some dinner. He has a check up today from his surgery last week.  He is feeling much better today than he has!! Great sign :).

Going to get a new cross stitching project out later on today to start working on. My goal is to have something to be able to pick up in the evening while watching tv. I'm sooo tired of sitting like a lump on a log. I just need to "do it"!

Hope you all get creative today!!

Bountiful Blessings completed

Happy Sunday everyone!  I completed stitching my Bountiful Blessings by Nan Lewis on Thursday while waiting for George to get out of surgery.  It was a long day for sure.  Even though it's an outpatient surgery, you can always be sure you are going to be there for quite some time.  He is fine. Getting stronger every day! That is a Blessing in itself , and we are thankful :).

I have been cold all day today. Can't seem to get warm. I can really feel the Fall in the air. So to warm up, I decided to age my little pillow and stand by the toaster oven watching it while it dried and rubbing my hands together to feel the heat lol. Should have done it earlier in the day! Such a sweet design, and it sure did stitch up quickly!

Yesterday I went to dinner with my Son and Dil to celebrate my Birthday. Craig is on call this coming week, so it wouldn't have suited him. Doesn't matter to me when! It was a wonderful 2 1/2 hours spent. Great meal, great conversations. Wouldn't trade our time spent for anything!

Tomorrow I'm headed out to lunch with my friend Nancee, and seeing what kind of trouble we can get in to or not lol.  I will make George a lunch so he won't have to do anything but relax and enjoy his day. Will be home for dinner and I'm picking up a pizza!! After all it's My Birthday and I get to choose :).

I hope you all have a very Blessed week ahead!!

And so it begins~~~ Happy October!!

October is here and if you have followed me at all in the past, you know that I start celebrating my Birthday early :).  Again, I will enjoy the entire month of October. Doing things for others, doing things for me, just enjoying every day!  I try and do that every day of the year, but when October hits, I just want to celebrate more !

I started this cross stitch piece last night. It was gifted to me last year from my friend Nancee. The pattern is called Bountiful Blessings. Designed by Nan Lewis of Threadwork Primitives.  Sweet design that will be made into a pillow. Am pleased with how much I got done in one night.  Will share when it is complete!

Off to sit and stitch some more while watching some tv.  Happy October to you!

Punchneedle

It's been a while since I did any punch needle. Feels good to be able to work on something for myself.  Took Saturday to just do nothing. No running around, just stayed in. Jump started the day by getting my chores done early and then went up to my wool room and got out the pattern "box".  Let's just say I can't close the lid lol.

I picked out this pattern by Lori Brechlin of Notforgotten Farm.  It's called Colonial Hill Farm. Felt good to sit and punch for several hours.  Sunday I had some grocery shopping to do and then finished punching this piece later in the day.  Today I decided to finish it into a pillow, backed with cotton and used a wool strip on the edge and whip stitched that on. Stuffed it with snippets from my rugs.

I'm not sure if I want to do another punch or start a cross stitch piece next!  Will have to see what tomorrow brings~~

I hope everyone's week is off to an Awesome start!

Hook In

Even with a start to a dreary day yesterday, Grant Street Woolworks still had a decent turn out.  I didn't even take my sun glasses with me (never leave home without them).  Always a great day for sharing and laughing.  Does the heart and mind good :).

I started this rug a while back and then just put it down. I had to get ready for Colonial Day which was a few weeks back.  Now that it is over, I can get back to it.  I will save this rug to work on for Thursdays hook in, and do some cross stitch or punch needle during the week. That's the plan anyway! All neutrals with some red and black. It will go on my dining room table when finished.

There was finishing going on with other hookers.

Nancee with her Original Design

And Joan with her scrappy rug. Sorry I didn't get it right side up!

Diana sooooo close to being finished with her Rooster rug!

Patty has been coming for a little while now. Working on her Santa.

And Tammie just came last night and was getting started on her second project!

Linda has been busy hooking up samples of the different wools she has in the shop.  I think she will be busy for a while :).

Soooooo, If you are ever in the area and need some patterns or thread, or wool, or supplies, or, or, or......   you know where to come!!

Thanks for all the sweet comments on my last post. They are sooooo appreciated!
Have a Blessed day everyone!

Autumn already?

I am so amazed at how fast the Summer, no wait, the Year is going! Is it really Autumn?? Sitting here with my cup of coffee looking at the drizzle outside. I can just feel the change in the air. I am a fan of the colors that the season brings, but I'm not a fan of the cooler temperatures. I know a lot of people like it.
It certainly has been a very busy year for me. Lots of changes for me. I'm enjoying it. Some of the changes aren't always happy, but I press on. The way the year is going by so fast, so is my life.  Trying to live every day with a smile.

I've slacked off on the creativity this year. Just the "burned out" feeling.  But I did manage to finish my big rug and hung it over my couch.  It was actually done in June I believe.  I also just finished a punch needle piece for a Christmas present. So I'm ahead of the game, just can't show it here :).  I have another rug in progress,  a simple geometric.  Will try and post it another day.  I recently started looking at blogs again, so I guess I felt the urge this morning to give an update.
Today is the hook in at Grant Street.  If the brain doesn't fail me, I'll try and get some shots of what's going on.  I hope it's a good turnout!

Wishing you all a Wonderful day!
