Puppy Shower Hook In ~~~ It's a Boy!

Last Thursday was an interesting Hook in for sure at Grant Street!   It's been planned for weeks. Diane recently lost her Bichon due to an illness. It was a very sad time for her, and she knew that one day soon she would be getting another dog.  Linda and Rick decided to surprise her with a new 8 week old puppy Bichon.  Once the word was out, a party was being talked about.  Jill made the favors of the balloons and candy to weight them down.  Barb made the cupcakes, other desserts and dishes were brought in, and people were buying gifts.  I'm still chuckling at how this was all kept a secret from Diane. At one point, we were informed that Diane was ready to buy another dog.  Phone calls were being made, her friend Nancy was discouraging her from buying too soon on a fixed income. Whew, saved.... She was going to wait.  Linda and Rick told Diane that they were going to take her to see a new litter on Friday.  She was excited.

On Thursday morning, hooking was normal as usual. Everyone was having a good time hooking. It was planned that Barb was taking Diane out for dinner to a local taco place.  Orders were taken to bring some back for others who wanted them.  Diane still has no clue. Soooooo, when they walked out the door, Margo and Rick took a ride to get the puppy.  And then............

The decorating began!  A flood of Hookers scurried around bringing up the balloons, hanging streamers, bringing out the gifts and treats.

We were waiting for the big moment.

Even Jill was extremely anxious :)

And then the time came. We heard them coming.  When they walked in, Diane wasn't sure what was going on. She saw some streamers on her chair, questioned it and then Linda gave Rick the ok to come out. He was hiding in the back room.

And here was the Moment.............

His name was already picked out by her Granddaughter.  Cooper!  A sash was made :)

After the oohs, and aaaaahs, and the tears.....   It was time to open the gifts.  Diane was laughing, crying, and thought we were all crazy :).

All tuckered out!

I think everyone had their chance at holding the puppy.  And what a good boy he is.  Sooo calm, and he enjoyed all the attention :)

Everyone was back to work after eating......

Linda is sooooo happy someone finally sat by her :)

It was a blast for sure.  A day I'm sure Diane will never forget. We hope she brings him back for a visit so we can see how much he's grown.

The rest of the weekend was a blurr.  Linda was a vendor at Woolwrights Hook In out in Lancaster.  What a day that was. Will update tomorrow with pictures from that!

It was a fun surprise for Diane - Linda and Rick were so generous in giving the puppy - who is adorable! Oh and too much cleavage showing on the person felting the bunnies tails! I'm offended! LOL

Kathy,
You are all so sweet to do this for Diane! She looks so very happy and I know the joy a puppy brings so I can imagine how thrilled she is. Linda and Rick are indeed very generous and thoughtful, as are the rest of you. I really enjoyed seeing the pics on your blog and Joanne's too! Hugs, Lori
