It's my Friday

No pictures to share today.  Although it's Wednesday, it's my Friday. I only help Linda out Mon-Wed.  Tomorrow is the hook-in.  We have not had it for 2 weeks. I hope everyone is anxious to come out again and get together for a couple hours or more! I know I'm looking forward to it, even though I don't have anything planned to work on yet. I'll be thinking of that today and get something together tonight.  I look forward to seeing those who show up tomorrow and hearing how their Christmas went and how their New Year is going for them so far.

I took the time to go up in my wool room last night and start the cleaning yet once again......  It's a never ending job and I've come to accept that. I think any room that you use to create your treasures in WILL become messy.  It has to, or something is wrong with you lol.  Ok, maybe there is one or two of you out there who is a tidy person. I am not!   I was able to clean a good portion of it. I am happy I went through my wool when I did, or that would have just added to the frustration.  I am cleaning up what mess I made in there from before Christmas.  I also used the spot on the floor that I could find to wrap the presents, so things are thrown all over the place and then on top of each other, etc.  I had to start at the door and work my way in. Pretty bad huh lol?  But it's good. I was making piles and then took care of each pile after that. One pile I made was the patterns I have received as gifts, my had to haves, and just thoughts that I wanted to do. I have them in one pile now and will work on one of them for this month! That is my goal. And with finishing organizing this room, that will be another one I can mark off. George bought me some pro chem dyes for Christmas and I need to figure out what will work for me in this room to store them. I have plenty of boxes, etc that I can store them in. But I would like them so I don't have to layer them. I want to have easy access to them, so that will take some thought. The room is not big.

I was happy that I found my lap top and the table that it sits on again. Was nice to sit up there, surf through the internet and listen to some music that I just bought.  If you are interested, one was Selah, album called Press On, and the other one was by Amy Grant, album called Somewhere down the road.  I'm enjoying them.

Sure hope your week is off to a good start. It's hump day for everyone else who works. Hang in there, it's almost over :).
Hope to have pictures from tomorrow's hook-in to share with you in just a few short days.

Happy New Year to you! It sounds like you are off to a good start. Oh, the wool room...it is a never-ending battle to keep it organized, isn't it? My room is small, too, plus it has a built in corner desk where my desktop computer sits. So in addition to wool and other crafting supplies, it is also my office/computer room.
I look forward to seeing what your next hooking project will be. Your last rug is wonderful :) Please take lots of pictures at Grant Street. I always love seeing what others are working on.
Pug hugs :)

Kathy, thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. Keeping a working place tidy is an ever ending story and if one can function it a mess, and know where everything is, there's nothing wrong with that. But on the other hand it feels good to whip it up back into shape.

I get disoriented and hesitant to tackle a project and also self-conscious if my hooking place is messy because it's visible to everyone.

I hope to have a spare room upstairs converted to a dyeing studio once I clear all the boxes of ceramics remnants of my old ceramic studio and store.

Looking forward to seeing your pictures JB

Kathy, I am glad you were able to get your room staightened up. It will help with keeping the creative juices flowin'. If your room looks good you just feel better. I too am looking forward to pics from Grant Street. I am looking forward to what you will pick to work on. I am taking a break. I have been taking my Christmas decorations down. Wow. I got alittle carried away with the decorations. But it is going well. I hope you have a great day today and hope tomorrow is even better. Lisa

Ho Kathy,
Glad order has been restored to your work room. I am a messy person in most things, but I can not create in a chaotic area.
Hope your hook-in goes well tomorrow. I didn't get a chance to comment on your last post where you showed your finished bird rug. It really looks great!!!
So what is the next project going to be???

Sounds like you are making good progress in your wool room! I think I've given up on ever being "organized" in my craft room... I'll just promise to always leave a spot to sit a stitch! :-) Have a great time at the hook-in!

Glad you found everything. I just cleaned out my sewing room and found a bunch of stuff I thought was lost forever! Still can't find my phone book..oh well. Please take lots of pictures...I miss going to my rug hooking group. Seems everything happens on the Saturday we meet. I have to live vicariously by others!
