Hook-In

Just trying to get in this post before I eat my breakfast and head out to work today.  Still not enough hours in the day.  I guess I'm waiting for there to be more of them, and there just aren't.  My nights are filled from the time I get home till the time I hit the pillow which has been very late. And I've started up a bad habit of drinking one cup of regular coffee in the morning, but ooh it's soo good.  And I figure if it's just one cup, that's not too bad.

Sooo, anyway, last week's hook-in went very well.  Linda was away starting her classes for certification for Rug Hooking. Which by the way, she said she had a wonderful time!!!  I kept the hook-in going.  It's my one day away and I just love being around such wonderful people.  It was just Barb and I first thing in the morning, and then she had to go take her grand-daughter to the Orthodontist.  Soooo, here I sit all by my lonesome.  So I decided to take a picture of myself hooking since I thought it was going to be the only picture I posted LOL. Sometimes I just crack myself up!

I brought all my worms to sort out by color. Figured it would take a while, and it did. But it's done. I had put them all into separate bags.

You can see the worms in the bags here.  And I did get some work done. Finished one piece and started to outline another.

Also took some pictures of some of the New wools and Patterns Linda received in.  Oooh, they are sooo nice.

Here are some of the newer wools to build up your stash, along with a sample of some of them hooked up so you can see how they will look in your piece..

Jill came and is working on her rug for her son. I would say it won't be much longer, and it will be finished.

Nancy is working on her oriental.  It is just beautiful!!

Joan was working on a felting piece for the Fair and I didn't get a shot of it :(.  But couldn't resist this one LOL.
We have two new women who have recently started coming to the shop to learn how to hook. And talk about enthusiasm!!  They just burst with it! This is Jackie.  And since this shot, she has already completed most of her background around the bird along with the leaves and cherries. It's turning out wonderful!  She'll be done with this in no time and has already picked out another pattern or 2 :).

And here is Jackie with Bonnie her friend. Bonnie chose to do a pumpkin mitten and it's looking great. I'm pretty sure they will be back this week again!

Barb was working on a quilting piece.

And here is what Sherri has been working on.  Her little bags for Christmas gifts. I just love them!

We missed Joanne this past week, but she says she is probably coming out this week.  Always love having her there.  Hope it's a nice full crowd.  Linda will be away again this week, it's vacation time for  her. But she will be back next week.  So if you are in the area this Thursday, stop on in. We will be there!

Next posting, I will have pictures of my mil's paintings. I have finally taken the pictures and want to share them with you.

Have a wonderful day everyone!!

Once again, thank you for sharing the hooking at Grant Street. It is such fun to look at all the pictures. I just love all the scrappy mats you are making! Are they for a show you are doing in the fall?
That zinc-lined dry sink behind Jill is to die for!!!
Your self-portrait is too cute. With the number of hookers who eventually showed up, you were far from alone.
Pug hugs :)

You crack me up too - taking a picture in case there was no one else to take! Looks like a fun crowd! Sorry I couldn't make it but the draw of the beach and all... well you know how it is! LOL

Can't wait to see the pics - love seeing the work of others!

Glad some others came so you didn't have to be alone! Looks like a good group, sorry I missed it! I was home frantically finishing a sewing order.
Maybe I'll get there this week.

Kathy,
Cute pic you took of yourself! I enjoyed seeing everyone and what they are working on. Looks like some yummy new wool and patterns in and your projects look great! I need to do that and use up some worms. Thanks for sharing. I'll look forward to seeing Harriet's paintings.

Great picture of you hooking all by your lonesome! :-) You're too funny! It's always a pleasure to see and hear what's hookin' at Grant Street! Now that I'm back home again, I had better get hooking! :-)
