Yesterday was the hook-in, and Joanne came out again. The girl loves to drive! So glad she came. We went out for lunch and then stopped at a neighborhood yardsale on the way to Linda's. I found 2 things to bring home with me. This one is to hang in my wool room. Will find something to put in it.
And here is a piece that will hang somewhere. Just loved the shape. Not sure what color I'll paint it yet. And I "dickered" down the price. LOL, I'm still laughing at that word. We saw a serger at another yard sale and it had a price marked, but then it said that you can dicker the price. Well I thought I was going to lose it. NEVER heard that word. Kept telling Joanne, it must be a PA thing. Have you ever heard that word before?? If so, I must really be living in the dark ages.
Got to Linda's, and Pat and her husband Zip were there. They were having a "temporary retirement" lunch for Pat. Looks like they had a good time. The pizza was eaten and there was cake. Joanne and I had a piece later. Mmm. Good. Joanne brought some sweets too. Oh my, delicious... Hey Pat, did Zip ever see that container again lol?
Pat showed us what rug she will be doing next. She transferred this on to her backing while she was there. It's a Baltimore quilt pattern. Knowing Pat, it's going to be gorgeous!Pat and Zip were on their way, and I could see that Pat was thrilled to have her new stand for her frame. She was all packed and ready to go. It is a nice stand on wheels!
We had so many laughs, but we REALLY do get some work done too. Joanne brought another piece of her friend Renee' to finish. This one just had the crow hooked and you can see how much she did. I believe she finished it before the night was over. Linda was just finishing up a pumpkin mitt, and she DID finish it. I thought I got a final shot of it, but didn't. I'm pretty sure Joanne did.
Then Linda worked on her homework. She is taking some fine hooking lessons from Doris. She's doing a great job! Deep in thought...... and I can tell she was enjoying it.

Doris, I just ask that you reassure Linda that she is doing a good job. The poor girl is so tense, sweats up a storm, and gets her self all worked up. Then "we" as friends have to come to her rescue.
Joanne said "I'll save you"....
Just kidding. Poor Linda needed her back cracked. Joanne was able to crack it for her. I just stood by and took pictures for your entertainment lol.
Sherry came too, and I must have been busy working away, because I didn't get a shot until she was leaving. She was working on a cute Christmas gift that had cats on it. Sherry must really think we are nuts, but....... she keeps coming back :).
Here is the piece that I only had a little bit done on it when I got there. I was able to finish it with much grumbling. I was in the mood to hook, but not in the mood. I'm sure you've all felt that way at one point or another. Linda sewed it for me on her machine and I stuffed it and finished off the x's around the edge. Labeled it this morning already and it's ready for Colonial Day tomorrow! Thank you Linda for sewing it. My friend Willa had given me the fabric. It was an off white and I dyed it the orange color. I'm really happy I finished it... Because if I didn't finish it, then THIS wouldn't have happened. (honestly, there is NO booze at this hook-in) lol
Oh my, what another fun Thursday. Praying real hard that in the near future, we get more people to attend. See what you are missing?? And surrounded by all the wool and patterns, and anything else you might need for your hooking...
I have already finished a few loose ends this morning for tomorrow's show. Still have a list of things waiting for me to gather up and pack. Willa has graciously invited Beth and I to stay the night with her tonight so we don't have to drive tomorrow morning. I live about 50 minutes away, and Beth is about the same. I also have to go do my mil's grocery shopping today. Since I started working, I had to move my schedule with her around. So far, it's working out very well.
Well, I think I covered everything.... Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. And if you are out in East Berlin, Pa tomorrow, stop at Colonial day on the main street and look for me and the girls in our group. We are the Black Sheep Rug Hookers. We have a sign on our table. Willa and I will have something to hook and will take turns demonstrating too.
Praying for no rain...Ooops, had to edit the post to show what I finished up this morning already. A punch needle I did. Just had to finish up the board and mount it!
