And here are the results. I was in and out of the kitchen all day on Saturday just playing in the dye pots. It's been a long time since I've done this at home. I enjoyed it! Now to organize the shelves better. That is going to take some time.
Yesterday I made it to church. It makes me sad to think I've missed so many weeks of it. But October was a very busy month for me. It felt good to be back. I had put a roast in the crockpot for dinner before I left, so didn't have to think about that later. Afterwards, I did some grocery shopping, and then did some more around the house. I barely got to see much of the NCIS marathon. But did watch the movie last night. A bit disappointed in that one. I was ready to buckle down and do some hooking while watching it, but realized I left my blade at the shop on Thursdays hook in. Always something!
Not sure what I'll be be getting into this week, but I do know that I'm not done yet with the dying. I had a blast, and want to continue. Some people dye just for the project they are working on at the time. Me? I like to just have something to choose from when the time is ready. If it's not the right one, then I will dye something else. But at least I'll have something on the shelves!
Wishing everyone a great Monday :) !

Great colors!! Looks like you had fun ~ I need to do that this week myself! Love that orange!
It's been a while since I've done that. Lately I've been too busy at the farm. I love the result of your efforts. Those colors are just beautiful. JB

So you can overdye a really dark wool to a different color? I figured you had to start with light colored wools. I love how yours turned out.

Ooohhhh! Your new wools are SO pretty! It's been ages since I've done any dyeing too, would love to get a few batches done. Do you have a favorite dye book?
I like to dye for the sake of dyeing. Then, I have wools to pick from. My wool is in great need of being organized. I must get to it!
Hey Kathy ...you know I don't like to dye wool ...so if I need some dyed you or Joanne are the first person I would go to for help..

Wow Kathy, I have to admit, quietly of course, I have never wanted to dye wool until tonight seeing the changes that you ended up with. How exciting it must be to wait and see how it turns out. I guess I will have to try it...soon. Thanks for sharing. Lisa
Jacqueline, I over dyed the darker colors into darker colors. Darker greens and blacks, and browns. Can't make the darker into lighter colors, but they make great dark backgrounds when you put different darks in a pot and over dye them!
Gayle, I do not have a favorite dye book. Out of all the ones I have, I like different colors out of each one. Some of the books I have for cushing dyes are Woolie dye book, red salt box, vermont folk art, actually too many to list lol. And I've been playing with the prochem dyes as well. Not sure if I have been much help. I just like different colors from different people, PLUS, I enjoy creating my own formulas :). Just have fun with it!
Wonderful colors, Kathy. I really would like to get to the dye pot but don't see it happening anytime soon. So I will just enjoy your dyeing efforts. Have a great week!!!
