Time for my First Give away~

Well, here we are. Blog post #150. I know I talk a lot, but never thought I would be able to post so many times. It sure has been fun, and there isn't a better month than November to be doing my first give away.

I just love Thanksgiving. It is just very sad that this Holiday is one that is so over looked. Just the other day I was in Kohl's, and what was playing over the speakers? Yep, Christmas music already. That was a huge disappointment, and if it were just I doing the shopping that night, I would have walked out. Way too early to be playing it in my opinion. Ok, enough on that subject.

More on being Thankful~
Did you know that if you wake up in the morning and just think of 5 things that you are thankful for, it puts you in a better mood for the day? How hard is that? So I'm going to list 5 things right now that I'm thankful for.
1. First and foremost, my personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I'm thankful to God for sending his son to die for my sins, so that I can ask him to be my personal savior and know where my eternity lies after I die.
2. I am thankful for my husband and children and all the ups and downs that come with them.
3. I am thankful for the provision of my husbands job which in turn pays for the roof over our heads where we can call home and be warm this Winter, and that puts food on our table.
4. I am thankful for "my" job for which I feel has been an answer to prayers where I can use the gifts that God has given me in order to please Him and others around me, along with helping out with some bills.
5. And the last one for today is that I am thankful for ALL my friends. Both near and far. Ones that I have known for a long time, and ones that I have never met in person, but have made friendships with over the Internet.

I could go on and on. The next time you look at your hand, count on your fingers what you are grateful for.

To celebrate Thanksgiving, I made up a little pinkeep/pillow. I love pincushions, so I wanted to give one to you, and I used one of my favorite fabrics for the backing. I also love wool, so I am giving a couple of my favorite colors to you. And I love candles, so I am giving you a little battery operated one with a bittersweet wreath around it. It's not much, but it is from the heart.

I want to thank all of you that post here, and all of you that just read my blog. I started this to just be something for me to write about my rugs and my family and friends. How thankful I am to have met so many wonderful people. I love reading all your blogs too! Wish I could have gotten a better shot of this.

I hope you all don't mind, but I just ask that you leave a comment here about just one thing you are thankful for. Sometimes when we read what others have to say, there may be some little thing that makes us think "yeah, I'm thankful for that too", but we have been just taking it for granted.

I will be collecting the names, and putting them in a random generator next Friday the 13th. There will be one lucky winner that day. And who says that day is bad luck lol?

If you don't have a blog, please leave an email for me to be able to contact you. Now that the details are taken care of on that, I thought I'd just share with you about the hook in yesterday. It was a really slow day. Not too many people coming through, but we still had lots of laughs and I actually got some work done! There were some that just came in to shop in the morning. I'm hoping Ruth will come back and hook with us some Thursday!

And just look at what you will see the next time you pull into the driveway!!! Yes, their sign is now hanging proudly out front!! The guys did a wonderful job, don't you think? The whole outside is now looking so much more inviting.

Now I don't think Linda will mind me sharing with you that she has this problem with bags lol. Every time she starts something else, a NEW bag comes out to put it all in. I just had to laugh, because I'm sure most of us can relate. Here is Linda being Johnny Carson as Carnac the magnificent. She's deciding which bag will be the one that she works on. Uh oh, she's feeeeeling the energy!
Yep, she picked one! And she got a lot done yesterday too! Just wished I would have gotten a picture of it.
A new girl, Linda came by and was working on a latch hook kit. It's going to take her a while. But she is enjoying it for sure. She tried rug hooking, but just had surgery on her hand, so it was tough for her.
Jill and Alyssa stopped by and I forgot to get the camera out. It was fun seeing them. Alyssa tried some punch needle, and she was already hinting to Jill that she would like to do it. Alyssa is 17.

And Sherry stopped by about 10 minutes or so after they had left! Jill was asking if she was coming. We weren't sure.
And here is what I finished. I stayed up some late nights to finish the hooking, then I whipped it yesterday. This weekend, I plan on doing some cleaning and giving my car a good wash and wax before the cold weather really sets in. I think I saw that Sunday is supposed to be a really nice day.

I hope everyone has a terrific weekend. And don't forget to be Thankful~~

OH Kathy, the cat and pumpkin rug is so adorable! I just love it!!! What am I thankful for? More things than I can count! Mostly for my family: Zip, Brad, Kami, Mom and sisters and of course my furry companions, too. And for a good happy life where I have the freedom to do the things I love. And my friends. I could go on and on!

Thank you for reminding me to count my blessings!

Hi Kathy, I have been an admirer of your work for a while. I am a fellow rughooker also. I too have much to be thankful for home, job and health but primarily my husband and kids. You are so right we should take time each day to remember the good things in our life. I would love to be entered into your giveaway. My email aec918@aol.com thanks Gail

As always, I just love your latest creation.
I am thankful that my 89 year old mom with dementia is doing better lately. She wasn't able to walk for a couple of weeks because of back pain and I didn't think she would walk again, but by the grace of God, she can once again walk short distances, and for that I am VERY thankful.
Pug hugs :)

Kathy, I loved your captions. You really could be a script writer for a comedian you know? First I thank God for everything in my life, whether it be good or bad, because without the good I wouldn't know bad and without the bad I wouldn't know good. I feel that everything in my life is a result of God leading me to another challenge in my life. I just pray I can always understand the bad and learn to be more appreciative the blessings.

P.S. I hope I win and I think I just saw a chicken.

I am a grandmother whose grandchildren are presently living in the UAE. Recently our daughter-in-law lost her father and the whole family returned for the services. I'm thankful for the time we were able to share with everyone even though it was under sad conditions. We have had our 2 year old grandson alone for a week now and it has been most delightful. Thanks for the wonderful giveaway.

I am very thankful for my children's good health. Earlier this summer we had a scare with my youngest son, but thankfully the MRI gave him a clean bill of health. I seen many terminally ill children in there that day and it really made me stop to tink and be thankful.

I just love your rug! I've only done smaller ones...long time ago, but have recently started thinking again about doing one.
What I'm thankful for: my family, and how they love me and put up with my hobbies (they call them obsessions)! Haha...
