A place to come and read about my love for the fiber arts. I enjoy Rug hooking, Cross stitching, Punch needle, and wool applique. Hoping to start adding more of these things as time goes on....

Weekend is over
Well, the weekend may be over, but I sure did have a great time with my daughter Nicole at our annual Cornfest here in Shippensburg. There were close to 300 vendors that lined our main street in town. Fortunately, we live a little over a mile from where it starts and chose to walk to it, rather than pay for a spot in town to park. It was nice and cool in the morning and not too humid. But by 11:00 or so, it got hot. We started on one side and walked almost the whole thing. Then decided to stop for some food. Had to have our annual butterfly potato chips loaded with melted cheddar cheese. (another reason we chose to walk lol). Along the way, Nicole had bought a few items for herself, and I was able to find some really cute things. One was a chair with a pot to put a mum in for my front porch, a wreath for my wreath hanger that has been empty for a year now, (I'm terrible that way), and a cute wire basket that I want to put some of my wool in. We finished walking the entire thing, and that's when I told Nicole that I wanted to walk it again. I got that "teenager" look lol. In the past I have gone in the morning with her, walked the whole thing, came home, showered and then went back with a few girlfriends to walk it all again. This year, my friends were both busy. Nicole finally agreed to walk it again with me, and I didn't have to twist her arm. Only we didn't do the "whole" thing. I didn't want to put her through all that, and we were having a really good mother/daughter day. So at one point I told her it was time to start heading home. In that heat, it was a looooong walk. But we survived it, and we are looking forward to it again next year.
Hard to believe that tomorrow is the start of September already. This week, I will be working on more of my punch needle for a show that I will be at on the 13th. I will be finishing them up by next week and will post some pictures of what I've done. Still learning this blogging, but am having fun with it. Can't believe I added that link to the Cornfest by myself. I had NO clue lol. Isn't it great to learn something new??? Wishing everyone a great week!
